November 21, 2008, 9:02 am -- WHAT'S FRANK THINKING?
Friday, November 21, 2008, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
"You must be sick...you are too old to play these children's games..." we overheard a woman plead with her husband, as we strolled along the ever-crowded aisles of the now somewhat smoke free Las Vegas casino at the Mandalay Bay. As we age, and no matter what we do, eat, drink, or smoke, age is something that absolutely cannot be avoided. It has been said that there are only two certainties in life; death and taxes. But we disagree - old age hopefully comes before death, and with any luck (read: guile), taxes may, if not be all-together avoided, they might somehow be lessened with losses and other accounting feats.
But age...
"It's true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place.”-- Anonymous
“Forty is the old age of youth; fifty is the youth of old age.”-- Victor Hugo
"Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age. Sometimes age just shows up all by itself.”-- Anonymous
"Old age: the crown of life, our play's last act.”-- Marcus Tullius Cicero
"The aging process has you firmly in its grasp if you never get the urge to throw a snowball." Doug Larson
"Age is not a particularly interesting subject. Anyone can get old. All you have to do is live long enough.”-- Groucho Marx
Have a great weekend. We are never too old to enjoy a couple days off, especially in this sickening yet historic market!
